From a Methodjew
Make no mistake, Catholic and Protestant alike. Your religion is founded not on the Bible, but on the teachings of Augustine and his contemporaries – on classical Greek and Roman thought. This approach must be eschewed! To understand the Holy Scriptures, one must first know how God describes Himself: as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Exodus 3:15). Greek philosophy fails miserably in its attempts to encompass and explain the God of the Hebrews.
To find the way to appropriately follow Jesus – a Jew – don’t ask a saint, ask a rabbi.
God also said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation. – Exodus 3:15
